Here is a simple summary of the key points of our Warranty Policy ("WARRANTY"). This section is provided for your convenience only. For the official warranty statement, please see our Official Terms below.
Tibbo PRODUCTS are made to exacting specifications and tested using stringent quality assurance procedures. Prior to leaving our manufacturing facility, each PRODUCT is tested individually. Many types of products also undergo burn-in tests.
If you suspect that your PRODUCT is malfunctioning, please contact our Technical Support Team (tibbo.com/support/contact.html).
Warranty terms are different for External Devices, Tibbo Project System (TPS) devices, Embedded Modules and Boards (Embedded Devices), and Development Boards, Kits, and Systems.
Examples of such devices: DS1100, DS1101, DS1102, DS1206, DS203, DS100.
Tibbo warrants each External Device to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the manufacturing date, as shown on the PRODUCT's label (and if a PRODUCT does not carry a label, as shown in Tibbo records). During this period, if a Customer is unable to resolve a problem and Tibbo Support determines that the PRODUCT may be defective, a Return Material Authorization (RMA) is issued to the Customer. Following the receipt of an RMA from Tibbo Support, the Customer may return the defective PRODUCT to Tibbo. Defective Products are shipped to Tibbo at Customer's expense. The production label must be present and intact on all returned PRODUCTS (excluding the PRODUCTS that do not carry such labels).
Upon receipt of a defective PRODUCT from the Customer, Tibbo will repair or replace this defective PRODUCT and ship it back to the Customer, typically within 30 business days. PRODUCTS under WARRANTY are repaired (replaced) and shipped back to Customers at Tibbo's expense. If the defective PRODUCT is not covered by the WARRANTY, Tibbo will repair or replace a PRODUCT and ship it back to the Customer at Customer's expense.
Repairs are conducted at Tibbo's facility in Taipei, Taiwan. This WARRANTY does not cover on-site repairs.
This Warranty is void under the following conditions:
Devices in this category: Barebone and custom Tibbo Project System (TPS) devices, Tibbo Project Box (TPB) enclosures, Tibbo Project PCBs (TPPs), Tibbits.
The warranty terms for Tibbo Project System devices are the same as for External Devices, with the following difference:
The Customer is allowed to disassemble TPB enclosures and TPS systems, but only down to Tibbits and TPPs. Tibbits shall not be disassembled.
Examples of such devices: EM2000, EM1000, EM1206, EM500, EM2001, EM1001, RJ203, and WA2000.
The warranty terms for Embedded Devices are the same as for External Devices, with the following differences:
The warranty period for Embedded Devices is three years from the manufacturing date, as shown on the production label (and if a PRODUCT does not carry a label, as shown in Tibbo records).
The Customer must prove that all Tibbo guidelines, specifications, and recommendations were followed when designing an Embedded Device into the Customer's device. This may include sending Tibbo Support a portion of schematics related to the Embedded Device, as well as providing photographs and if needed, a production sample of the Customer's device, into which the Embedded Device has been incorporated. Violating Tibbo guidelines and specifications when incorporating an Embedded Device into a Customer's device voids this WARRANTY.
Examples of such devices: EM2000EV, EM1000EV, EM1206SK, EM500EV, DS1206N.
The warranty terms for Development Boards and Systems are the same as for External Devices, with the following difference:
The warranty period for Development Boards and Systems is one year from the manufacturing date, as shown on the production label (and if a PRODUCT does not carry a label, as shown in Tibbo records).
In no event will Tibbo be responsible to the Customer or User in contract, in tort (including negligence) or otherwise for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damage or loss of equipment, cost of capital, loss of profits or revenues, additional expenses in the use of existing software, hardware, equipment or facilities, or claims against the user by its employees or customers resulting from the use of Tibbo PRODUCTS, or use of the information, recommendations, descriptions and safety notations supplied by Tibbo. Tibbo liability is limited, at Tibbo's discretion, to the repair or replacement of defective PRODUCTS.
There are no understandings, agreements, representations or warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, other than those specifically set out above or by any existing contract between Tibbo and the Customer. Any such contract states the entire obligation of Tibbo.
Tibbo reserves the right to amend this Warranty Policy at any time.
