The X20X family features modules of two kinds: EM "controller" modules carry the CPU, Ethernet controller, memory, and other digital circuitry. RJ "jack/connector" modules feature Ethernet magnetics, an RJ45 jack, and a shielded housing that partially covers the modules.

The EM modules can be used with any standard Ethernet front-end, such as the YCL-PTC1111-01G RJ45 connector with integrated magnetics.

Depending on the model and configuration, these devices can work either as fixed-function, ready-to-run serial-to-Ethernet converters or as BASIC-programmable controllers.

Each EM module in the X20X family has several status LEDs onboard.

The RJ modules combine standard 10/100BaseT magnetics and RJ45 jack into a single module.

Unique patented design minimizes their board footprint and allows you to put other components, such as the Ethernet controller, right under them -- thus saving valuable host board space.

The modules are partially encased in a lightweight, aesthetically pleasing housing. This provides necessary shielding and mechanical stability, while keeping the rear portion of the device uncovered for better air circulation.

The housing is translucent, allowing you to place status LEDs directly on the host board, so they're visible through the RJ module's front face.

Perfect Together

The EM and RJ modules can be used together as well. EM devices tuck right under the RJ modules, effectively occupying no extra space on the host board.

In this configuration, the EM module's status LEDs are positioned right behind the RJ device's translucent face, and so remain visible.

Much Improved, Still Compatible

To create a better product, we didn't just think outside the box. We have eliminated the box itself! The new X20X module family employs a patent-pending design that dramatically improves on the now-obsolete EM202 module.

	100% Compatible, yet... Several new EM/RJ module pairs in the X20X family directly replace the EM202 in your product. All important mechanical dimensions have been preserved and there is a full electrical and functional compatibility with the EM202.		LIGHT(er) Less parts — less weight! Additionally, there is no epoxy potting, so new X20X devices are much lighter. For example, the EM203A and RJ203A combination tips the scales at just 9.4 grams. That's 50% less than the EM202.
	GREEN(er) With environmental concerns ever growing, Tibbo is at the forefront of creating greener products. New X20X devices require less materials to build. Plus, the elimination of epoxy potting allows for easier separation of components during recycling!		COOL(er) Open design with exposed PCBs means better natural air circulation around the IC chips and lower overall operating temperature. And the design of these new devices is pretty cool, too.
	QUIET(er) We have also shaved several dBs off the radiated noise of new X20X modules. Lower noise levels make it easier for you to achieve CE/FCC certification for the product you are building.		...and More Flexible! The new X20X family includes both low-cost ready-to-use serial-to-Ethernet converter options, as well as BASIC-programmable solutions based on Tibbo's T1000 ASIC. Which module do you want to use?
