Serial-over-IP on Tibbo External Controllers
Tibbo offers two lines of external device servers: the DS110X family of serial controllers and Tibbo Project System (TPS) devices in select configurations.
Both the DS110X and TPS offerings comprise general-purpose BASIC/C-programmable devices running our open-source serial-over-IP (SoI) application.
We welcome you to edit and change the SoI application in any way you please!

SoI on DS110X Programmable Serial Controllers
Compact and Stylish
The DS1100, DS1101, and DS1102 are general-purpose Tibbo BASIC/C-programmable serial controllers capable of running our standard serial-over-IP (SoI) application.
The DS1100 is an entry-level, economically priced serial controller with a standard RS232 port. The DS1100 can optionally be powered through pin 9 of the DB9M connector.
The DS1101 features a 3.5-channel RS232 port and the ability to power itself via pin 9 of the DB9M connector. Alternatively, the DS1001 can output 12V* power through the same pin 9 (internal power switch is software-controlled).
The DS1102 is equipped with a multiprotocol port that can be set up as a 3-channel RS232 port, two-channel RS422 port, or a single-channel half-duplex RS485 port.
All three devices can be equipped with the available PoE power module. In addition, the DS1101 and DS1102 can be supplied with the available Wi-Fi interface and OLED display.
The SoI application takes advantage of all the hardware features of the DS110X family, including, where available, the ability to control the power output on pin 9, RS232, RS422, and RS485 modes, multi-channel ports, Wi-Fi connectivity, and OLED display.
* Nominal, the actual output voltage depends on the input voltage applied the device.

Channels: Squeezing Multiple Serial Ports Onto a Single DB9
Devices supporting this feature have a single DB9M connector and are priced as single-port products, yet pack several independent serial channels.
Have no use for those DSR and DTR lines? Turn them into RX and TX lines of an additional serial channel. Don't want CTS and RTS either? That's one more RX/TX pair!
Ourserial-over-IP (SoI) application defines 15 different configurations or "port mappings" to choose from, starting from a standard single-channel configuration
(RX, TX, CTS, RTS, DSR, DTR, and DCD) and ending with the 3.5-channel setup (RX, TX, RX2, TX2, RX3, TX3, and RX4).
Splitting wires can be conveniently carried out with theTB1100 adaptor.

(SoI application can turn the power output on and off)
Devices supporting this feature can be powered through pin 9 of the RS232 (DB9M) connector, and/or can power another small device, such as a barcode scanner, through this pin.
Power output on pin 9 is software-controllable. Our serial-over-IP (SoI) application includes a related setting.

TPS-based Serial-over-IP Controllers
Our Tibbo Project System (TPS) is an ideal platform for creating multi-port device servers.
With TPS, you don't have to settle for a close match. Need exactly three serial ports?
Define a TPS configuration with just three ports! Select other options just as easily.
Take what you need, leave out what you don't.

Hundreds of Possible Configurations
With so many options to choose from the full list of models covering all possible "device server" TPS configurations would be enormous.
This is why we've created an easy-to-use selector allowing you to define your ideal SoI controller. Jump to the store, go trough the options, and your device is ready for ordering.
