The EM1000 is a Tibbo BASIC/C-programmable IoT module with Ethernet, as well as optional Wi-Fi* and GPRS** connectivity. The EM1000 has four independent UARTs.
The EM1000 may be uploaded with a fully functional serial-over-IP (SoI) application that turns the module into a powerful four-port serial-over-IP (SoI) device.
All three network interfaces — Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and GPRS — are fully supported by the SoI application, with automatic switchover depending on the network conditions.
As an SoI converter, the EM1000 is compatible with Tibbo Device Server Toolkit (TDST) for Windows. TDST includes the Virtual Serial Port Driver (VSPD), which enables you to use all four serial ports of the module as remote COM ports of your PC. The Linux version of the VSPD is available as well.

* Requires the GA1000 Wi-Fi add-on, which can be connected externally or piggybacked on top of the EM1000 ("EM1000G" ordering code).
** Requires a standard GPRS modem (i.e. Simcom's SIM900), to be connected to the UART #4 of the EM1000.
