Important Product Change Notice

Dear Valued Customer,

This is an important notice regarding the following products: EM1000, EM1202, EM1206, EM1202EV, EM1206EV, DS1206N, DS1202, DS1206, DS100x (DS1000, DS1002, DS1003, DS1004, DS1005).

All of the above products use an EEPROM IC supplied by Microchip Technology Inc (MICROCHIP). In October 2009 we have started to receive a slightly modified version of the EEPROM IC. This IC has exactly the same model number, but (apparently) something has been changed "inside". The old IC version is no longer available.

Regrettably, we have identified a slight incompatibility between this new modified version of the EEPROM and our existing TiOS firmware. We have already resolved this issue by altering TiOS and the new version (2.20.05) has been posted on our website.

The above incompatibility makes it impossible to use any TiOS firmware older than 2.20.05 with Tibbo devices utilizing the updated EEPROM IC. We have incremented the "revision" counter for related products. This will allow you to identify devices with the new EEPROM:

Using these devices with older TiOS firmware will have two negative consequences: (1) your Tibbo device will boot with default MAC address (0.1.2.3.4.5) and it will be impossible to change this MAC, and (2) the stor. object will not work correctly.
