Software Packets Management Overview

A package manager is a collection of tools which automates the process of installing, upgrading,
configuring, and removing software or settings in a consistent manner.

A package manager deals with packages, distributions of software and data in archive files.

Packages contain metadata, such as copyright/license, vendor, checksum, description, version, requirements
and a list of dependencies for chained automatic installation which is nessesary for this software to run correctly.
