Tibbo Warranty Policy

Simple Terms

Below is a simple summary of the key points of our warranty policy, for ease of reading.

This form is not legally binding. It is provided for your convenience only, and is not an official statement. For the official warranty statement, please see "Official Terms" below.

  1. You must get approval from Tibbo Support before sending a product for repair. You can reach support at www.tibbo.com/support.php. You may be asked to provide additional information related to your problem with Tibbo products.
  2. When you ship the product for repair, you must include a written note explaining what the problem is.
  3. Disassembling the product, for whatever reason, is not allowed and unconditionally voids the warranty.
  4. The warranty does not cover obvious misuse, like wrong power supply voltage or integration in a way which is contradictory to the specifications and directions set forth in the product manual.
  5. When you send us goods for repair (replacement) you pay for shipping to Taiwan. We pay for shipping repaired goods back to you.

Official Terms

Tibbo products are made to exacting specifications and tested using stringent quality control procedures. Each device is subjected to individual tests as well as a burn-in test (at least 24 hours in length), prior to leaving our manufacturing facility.

If you suspect that your Tibbo product is malfunctioning, please contact our Technical Support Team (www.tibbo.com/support.php). If Tibbo Support agrees that your device might be defective, the following shall apply (as per your device):

EXTERNAL DEVICES

Tibbo warrants each external (stand-alone) Device (such as the DS100 or DS202) to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of two years from the manufacturing date, as shown on production label. During this period, if a Customer is unable to resolve a product problem and Tibbo Support determines that the product is defective, a Return Material Authorization (RMA) will be issued. Following receipt of an RMA from Tibbo Support, the Customer shall return the product to Tibbo. Defective product is shipped to Tibbo at Customer’s expense. Customer must include a written record of the defect with returned product.

Upon receipt of defective product, warranty verification will be conducted. This includes visual inspection and testing for normal wear and tear, alteration, and functional compliance of the product. The production label must be present and intact.

Upon verification of warranty, Tibbo will repair or replace the product and ship it back to the Customer within 30 business days or best effort. Repaired (or replacement) product is shipped back to the Customer at Tibbo’s expense.

If the product is not under warranty, the Customer may have Tibbo repair the unit on a fee basis or return it.

Repairs are conducted at Tibbo facility in Taiwan. This warranty does not cover repair at the Customer's site.

This warranty is voided under the following conditions:

  • It is determined by Tibbo Support that the product was used in an unauthorized or improper way.
  • It is determined that the product was deployed in an environment for which it was not designed (per specifications and product documentation).
  • It is determined that the product was disassembled by the Customer.

Customers will not be charged for repairs while the product is under warranty. However, if a returned product does not meet warranty verification then testing, repair, and/or shipping fees will apply.

Any external product found to be defective within 30 days of shipment under normal use shall be considered Dead on Arrival (DOA). DOA products will be advance replaced and shipped via express delivery (where available) at no cost to the Customer. Customer is still responsible for returning defective product to Tibbo at Customer’s expense within 15 working days of receiving replacement.

INTERNAL (EMBEDDED) DEVICES

The warranty period for embedded devices is three years from the manufacturing date, as shown on production label.

The warranty terms for Internal Devices (such as the EM100 or EM202) are the same as for the External Devices, with the following differences:

Customer must prove that all Tibbo guidelines, specifications and recommendations were followed in embedding the product within Customer’s design. This may include sending Tibbo Support a portion of schematics related to the Tibbo module, photographs or even an actual production sample of the device in which the module has been embedded. Violating Tibbo guidelines and specifications in embedding the product within the Customer’s design will void the warranty.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

In no event will Tibbo be responsible to the user in contract, in tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise for any special, indirect, incidental or consequential damage or loss of equipment, cost of capital, loss of profits or revenues, additional expenses in the use of existing software, hardware, equipment or facilities, or claims against the user by its employees or customers resulting from the use of the information, recommendations, descriptions and safety notations supplied by Tibbo. Tibbo liability is limited (at its election) to repair or replacement of products, provided that the buyer follows the above procedures.

There are no understandings, agreements, representations or warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, other than those specifically set out above or by any existing contract between the parties. Any such contract states the entire obligation of Tibbo. The contents of this document shall not become part of or modify any prior or existing agreement, commitment, or relationship. Tibbo reserves the right to amend this Warranty Policy at any time.
